Does the water taste like plastic?

No. You can wash the container before using. The water doesn’t have any plastic taste.

What type of plastic is the main body?

Food-grade material, BPA-free.

How durable is container plastic? I need it for my truck and it will be continuously shaking and vibrating on the road.

Mine has held up really well. It stays in my plastic greenhouse through all seasons. I have not yet had a problem with it. Bought it last summer.

How fast does water come out?

You can regulate the water flow. If it is all the way in the ON position, it flows pretty fast as long as you remember to unplug the small air hole on top.
